(NEWTON/OLNEY) in Boys High School Track & Field from Friday –
for the second year in a row, Olney won its own Invitational Track Meet
with sixteen teams competing, the Tigers beat second place Charleston, 140 to 80.5
rounding out the top five were Benton (72.5), Salem (64), and Paris (62)
then Flora (60), Fairfield (49), St. Thomas More (44), Newton (40), and Teutopolis (38)
the other teams included St. Anthony (34), Mattoon (29), Mt. Carmel (25),
Robinson (15), Dieterich (12), and Lawrenceville (2)
Olney had fourteen top three finishes who received medals
Quaid Berger won both the 1600 and 3200 meter runs
Tristin Butler won the 800 meter run and was 2nd in the 1600 meter run
Aiden Germak won the 400 meter run
Xarier Owusu-Gyan, Gavyn Cothern, Aiden Germak, & Ian Pianfetti won the 400 meter relay
Guillermo Tartalo, Tristin Butler, Carter Seaman, & Aiden Germak won the 1600 meter relay
Gentry Hough, Leo Hallam, Ian Kocher, & Daniel Zhu won the Fresh/Soph 800 meter relay
Quaid Berger, Judah Dicks, Ian Kocher, & Landan Livingston won the F/S 1600 meter relay
Judah Dicks was 2nd in the 3200 meter run
Maverik Cordell was 2nd in the pole vault
Gavyn Cothern was 2nd in the long jump
Xavier Owusu-Gyan, Leo Hallam, Ian Kocher, & Daniel Zhu were 2nd in the 800 meter relay
Ian Pianfetti was 3rd in the 100 meter dash
the Tigers are scheduled to compete Saturday at the Mascoutah Classic Meet
