(NEWTON) in Girls High School Basketball last night –
Newton lost at Robinson 51-42 in the varsity game.
The Lady Eagles were led in scoring by Camryn Martin with 20 points. Lilly Kessler added 12.
The Lady Eagles are 1-1 and will host the Bob Kerans Newton Tournament next week.

the 2023 Pana Tournament is scheduled to start this evening
There are six teams taking part with every team to play each other once
Tonight’s Session 1 includes three games
- Mattoon plays Gillespie at 5:00
- the Olney Lady Tigers will play Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 6:30
- The host Lady Panthers play Okaw Valley at 8:00
Session 2A starts tomorrow morning
- Christ Our Rock Lutheran and Mattoon hook up at 10:00
- the Olney Lady Tigers will play Okaw Valley at 11:30
- Pana plays Gillespie at 1:00
Then Session 2B is later tomorrow
- Olney and Mattoon play at 3:30
- Gillespie and Okaw Valley at 5:00
- Pana against Christ Our Rock Lutheran at 6:30
The final six games will be next Friday and Saturday, the 24th and 25th
