(MARION) In Girls High School Track & Field from last Thursday (02/22/2024) –
There were 21 teams that competed at the Joe Elliott Early Indoor Invite at Marion
- along with the Olney Lady Tigers, other teams on hand were Salem, Fairfield,
- Mt. Vernon, Harrisburg, Collinsville, Carbondale, Carterville, Benton, Anna,
- Du Quoin, Herrin, Johnston City, Mascoutah, Murphysboro, O’Fallon, Troy,
- Pinckneyville, Chester, Marion, and Benton, Kentucky
The Olney Lady Tigers had seven girls earn personal results
- Mackenzie Thomas won (1st) the 800 meter run
- Jillian Bettis was 6th in the shot put
- Josie Ginder was 8th in the 1600 meter run
- Briley Kocher was 11th in the long jump
- Karlee Piercefield was 15th in the 800 meter run
- Reese Lathrop was 16th in the shot put
- Elizabeth Bahl was 21st in the 200 meter dash
Olney also had other notable top finishes
- Lily Stevens, Kennedy Travis, Brielle Seiler, & Hadley Denton – 800 meter relay
- Lily Stevens, Kennedy Travis, Brielle Seiler, & Mackenzie Thomas – 1600 meter relay
- Briley Kocher and Savannah Cycholl – triple jump
- Hadley Denton – 60 meter dash
- Ashtin McCormick – shot put
The Lady Tigers are back in action this coming Friday at the Eastern Illinois University Indoor Meet at Charleston.
