(EFFINGHAM) The investigation is continuing into a head-on crash on the south edge of Effingham this past Saturday morning at around 6:30. The Illinois State Police report 41 year old James Ashley of Effingham was southbound on U.S. Route 45 when his SUV drifted into the northbound turn lane and struck a pickup truck towing a camper. Ashley was later pronounced deceased at HSHS St. Anthony Hospital. The truck driver and passenger, 64 year old Scott Mosher and 61 year old Kathy Mosher, both of Effingham, were not seriously injured. An autopsy was conducted yesterday to see if medical issues were involved. No other details are available at this time with autopsy and other tests results pending.
