HOUSE MEMBERS REQUESTING VOLUNTARY USE OF E15

(WASHINGTON) Two downstate U.S. House members have signed onto a letter requesting a legislative solution allowing for voluntary use of E15 year-round nationwide. Also in the letter, lawmakers discussed the need for certainty surrounding the sale of E15 in general. The letter notes that in light of the recent EPA final rule allowing the year-round sale of E15 in eight Midwestern states, including Illinois, beginning in 2025, Governors, ag producers, ethanol refiners, oil refiners, retailers, and the automotive industry have all recognized the need for permanent law which provides needed certainty for producers and consumers in every state. Representatives Mary Miller and Mike Bost both endorsed the letter.
