(OLNEY) The Illinois Eastern Community College District is mobilizing community and college resources to support workers and families impacted by the sudden closure of Champion Labs in Albion as all four IECC campuses in Fairfield, Olney, Mt. Carmel, and near Robinson are now coordinating training opportunities, financial assistance, and career services to assist the more than 1,000 affected workers. A series of informational workshops have been scheduled to help the men & women affected to learn about services available under the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act with the sessions to provide clear guidance on unemployment benefits, health insurance coverage, 401K & retirement benefits, utility assistance, and training & educational opportunities. The following meetings have been set up to be held in the Workforce Building at Frontier Community College in Fairfield with IECC staff and workforce partners available :
- Thursday morning, March 5th, at 10:00 for last names beginning A thru E
- Thursday afternoon, March 5th, at 1:30 for last names beginning F thru J
- Friday morning, March 6th, at 10:00 for last names beginning K thru O
- Friday afternoon, March 6th, at 1:30, for last names beginning P thru T
- Monday morning, March 9th, at 10:00, for last names beginning U thru Z
- Monday afternoon, March 9th, at 1:30, for anyone unable to attend a previous session
