The Illinois Eastern Community Colleges (IECC) Board of Trustees held its regular meeting on Tuesday, November 19, at Lincoln Trail College in Robinson. Key actions from the meeting include:
- Financial Approvals: The Board approved payment of all bills and established a 2024 Tax Levy for taxes due and collectible in 2025. A public hearing on the levy will be held before the Board’s next meeting.
- Capital Projects: A $27,610 bid from Read’s, Inc. in Olney was approved for the replacement of an HVAC unit at the Terry L. Bruce West Richland Center in Noble.
- Property & Agreements: The Board authorized Chancellor Gower to work with the WVC Foundation to formalize the transfer of ownership for Main Hall, the parking lot, and other WVC facilities. The Board also accepted a Facility Use Agreement with Clay County Hospital for access to its radiology rooms and equipment and approved two affiliation agreements.
- Meeting Schedule: The Board set its meeting schedule for 2025, agreeing to meet on the third Tuesday of each month, with the exceptions of April and December.
- Personnel Changes: The Board approved the following personnel updates:
- Honorable dismissal of Ken Anderson as CETL Instructional Designer.
- Retirements of Gerald “Jay” Edgren (President of Frontier Community College) and Alex Cline (District Chief Information Officer), both effective in 2025.
- Resignations of Bart Nation (TRIO Upward Bound Counselor at WVC) and Morgan McCoy (Student Services Specialist at FCC).
- New hires: Jody White as JTED Grant Project Manager at FCC and Chet Snyder as Head Volleyball Coach & Student Life Coordinator at FCC.
- Change in employment status for Derek Dunn at FCC from Ed Tech Specialist to Coordinator of Marketing & Public Information.
- Special assignments for Kelly Payne in various academic disciplines.
- Non-College Employment: The Board approved proposed non-college employment for Doug Robb at Oakland City University.
The next regular IECC Board meeting will be held on December 10th at Olney Central College, starting at 4:30 p.m.
