ILLINOIS DECLARED TO BE “BIRD FLU” FREE

(SPRINGFIELD) The USDA has declared Illinois to be “unaffected” by the avian influenza, a recognition of the state’s efforts working with local health departments, dairy farms, and agricultural organizations to keep the illness from impacting the state’s dairy supply. The Illinois Department of Agriculture and Illinois Department of Public Health were noted for a job well done, who then thanked those throughout the state for the combined effort.
