(SPRINGFIELD) Illinois has a new Miss County Fair Queen, crowned late last night up in Springfield, during the 114th Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs Convention. It’s 2o year old Johnna Fulcher of Geneseo, representing Henry County, currently a student at Blackhawk College. The other top finalists included first runner-up Delaney Epley of Christian County, second runner-up Claire Oliver of Sangamon County, third runner-up Kaylee Ford of Western Illinois, and fourth runner-up Paris Van Dyke of Clay County. One other area queen made the top fiften finalists list, that was Kyandra Zerrusen of Effingham County. A tip of the hat the Aubrey Lambird and Elise Wright for representing Richland and Jasper Counties very well. New Queen Johnna Fulcher will be the official hostess of the Illinois State Fair in Springfield and the Du Quoin State Fair later this summer, plus travel to about 30 county fairs throughout the state promoting the local fairs and agriculture.

Once President-elect Donald Trump is sworn in today, the Illinois Farm Bureau expects some quick action within a few months, especially with the farm bill.
(SPRINGFIELD) An Illinois city has been named the hottest housing market in the country, according to Realtor.com. The City of Rockford, which ranked number one (1) on the list in December, had a median list price of just $242,000 last month, with homes moving quickly, typically spending just 43 days on the market. Other Illinois cities making the top twenty including Springfield at number twelve (12) and Peoria at number twenty (20).
