(SPRINGFIELD) Governor J.B. Pritzker has signed into law a bill that aims to enhance the quality of drinking water around the Land of Lincoln. The law will require to the State EPA to conduct tests of community water supplies to assess the levels of foreign chemicals, plus the EPA will annually review chemicals that could pose health hazards. It begins in 2026.

(SPRINGFIELD) House Republican lawmakers presented their legislative proposals to bring light to human trafficking and the impact it has throughout Illinois. The package of bills includes one that would remove the statute of limitations for prosecuting crimes involving human trafficking, while another would prohibit a person using a minor for prostitution from claiming they did not know the victim was a minor as a defense in court. These and the other measures follow a package of bills recently filed in the State Senate.

(SPRINGFEILD) Thousands of life advocates from around Illinois are expected to gather at the State Capitol in Springfield today for the Illinois Pro-Life March. The annual event, previously known as the Illinois March for Life, will condemn what the group says is a compilation of anti-life legislation before the state general assembly. Organizers say the objectionable legislative initiatives include bills to legalize physician-assisted suicide along with further state support and taxpayer funding for abortions throughout the state.

(CHICAGO) A new study ranks three Illinois communities among the 50 best places to live in the United States. The research platform, “Niche” has released its “Best Places to Live” report which used data from the Census Bureau, the FBI, and other sources to rank more than 12,000 cities. Illinois’ Naperville is ranked 23rd overall, with Clarendon Hills close behind at #25 and Hinsdale at #29. Colonial Village in Arlington, Virginia took the top spot.
