(ALBION) Whether renewing an Illinois pesticide license or applying for one, registration is now open for local in-person testing sessions to be held in Olney, Albion, and Fairfield. While the testing is provided by the Illinois Department of Agriculture in collaboration with Illinois Extension for pesticide applicators and operators who need a commercial, private, or special license, the in-person testing is free and will be available in Richland, Edwards, and Wayne Counties December through March. Registration is required and early sign up is encouraged due to class size limitations. With all in-person testing from 10:00 to 1:00 each day, the first test at the Extension Office in Olney is December 3rd with two more tests in January and March. The first test at the Extension Office in Fairfield is December 12th with two more in February and March. And the first test at the Farm Bureau Office in Albion is December 19th with two more in January and February. To register, visit the IDOA website at www.agr.illinois.gov/pesticides/in-person-testing or contact your Extension Office in Olney, Albion, or Fairfield.
