INVESTIGATION CONTINUING INTO DROWNING DEATHS OF 3 JASPER COUNTY INDIVIDUALS

(STE. MARIE) The investigation is continuing into the death of three Jasper County people this past Saturday afternoon in the Embarras River, northwest of Ste. Marie. The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office received the initial call at approximately 5:10 and county-wide First Responders arrived at the scene to begin the search of the drowning victims. Within the following six hours, the bodies of the three individuals were recovered from the river as Emergency Services cleared the scene at approximately 11:37 Saturday night. The drowning victims have been identified as 39 year old Travis Lee Keebler, 12 year old Adelyn Re’Nee-lee Keebler, and 6 year old Noah Joseph-Edgar Lee Keebler, all of Willow Hill. While funeral services are pending at the Meyer Funeral Home in Newton, Jasper County authorities want to thank multiple Fire Departments, Search & Rescue Teams, Dive Teams, the State DNR, Ambulance Services, and Emergency Personnel from throughout the region who assisted in the search and recovery effort.
