(EFFINGHAM/CARMI) The Illinois State Police Troop 9 is announcing upcoming patrols for the rest of August and September. Troopers will conduct Nighttime Enforcement (NITE) patrols in Richland, Lawrence, Wabash, Wayne, White, Marion, Effingham, and Fayette Counties, plus Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement (ACE) patrols in the counties of Edwards, Wayne, Clay, Hamilton, and Effingham. Occupant Restraint Enforcement (OREP) patrols and many roadside safety checks will also be conducted. It’s all to focus on safety belt and child safety seat laws, plus the focus on those driving while impaired by alcohol and/or drugs.
