(OLNEY) It was last week that State Senator Jason Plummer hosted high school students from throughout the 55th Legislative District as a part of his Youth Advisory Council (YAC) program. There were nearly 20 high schools and over 60 students that took part in the event which was held at the Kaskaskia College satellite campus site in Vandalia. The YAC program includes two bi-annual meetings with the next one coming up during the spring legislative session in Springfield. It’s open to high school students in the 55th District as interested students should ask their teachers and/or principals about taking part. The 55th State Senate District encompasses all or portions of eleven counties, including Richland, Clay, Marion, Fayette, Effingham, and six others to the west and northwest.
