(NEWTON) The Jasper County Board will have a special meeting coming up this Thursday night, February 1st, starting at 6:00, at the Courthouse, on the square in Newton. With everyone encouraged to attend, the special meeting topic will be on the future of the Jasper County Courthouse with a special presentation made, which will include the Courthouse history, the purpose and use of the Courthouse, the current condition of the Courthouse, the possible options for Courthouse needs, and information about an Energy Transition Grant. While no action is expected, the general public is strongly encouraged to attend. The next regular monthly meeting for the Jasper County Board will be February 15th, 2024.
