(EFFINGHAM) The investigation is continuing into a fatal single vehicle traffic crash that occurred shortly after midnight yesterday (Monday 8/25/25) morning on Interstate 57 in Effingham. Illinois State Police Troop 9 reports 43 year old Justin Kresin of Effingham was merging onto exit 160, next to Keller Drive, when his motorcycle left the roadway for unknown reasons and hit a wooden post. Kresin was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died due to his injuries. Authorities say the investigation continues into the cause of the crash and death.
