LOCAL CHRISTMAS LIGHTS DISPLAYS

(NEWTON) The Newton Christmas Lights Display will be clicked on for the first time this coming Friday evening and then be lit up each weekend through Christmas Day night. The display in Newton’s Peterson Park will be open from 5:00 to 10:00 each Friday and Saturday night and from 5:00 to 9:00 on Sundays. Folks can view the display from the east of the park by taking Marion Street off of Illinois Route 130 and entering the park at the four way stop.

(OLNEY) The Olney Christmas Lights Display will be clicked on this coming Thursday evening, Thanksgiving Day evening, and then be on each night through New Year’s Eve, all in the Olney City Park. The display will be lit up from 5:00 to 9:00 each Sunday through Thursday and from 5:00 to 10:00 each Friday and Saturday. All are urged to make plans to roll through the City Park by entering from the west off of Illinois Route 130 & exiting onto Ludlow Street to the east, to hear the sounds of Christmas and enjoy the colorful lights & displays of the holiday season. The Bucket Brigage volunteers will be set up at the end of the display taking donations which will be used for upkeep and repairs of the display.

(OLNEY) All are invited to downtown Olney this Wednesday evening at Bower Park for the Friends of Olney “Tree Lighting” which will begin at 5:30. While everyone is welcome to join the carol singing, there will be hot cocoa donated by Full Armor Olney and cookies donated by the Walmart DC. Also, don’t forget to get those Christmas raffle tickets today through Wednesday with a chance to win SOS to help ensure local shopping this holiday season. The raffle tickets are available for purchase at the Olney Chamber Office and will also be sold Wednesday evening at 5:00, prior to the “Tree Lighting” in Bower Park. The tickets are $10 each or get three tickets for $20. The drawing will be later in the evening at 6:00 and winners need not be present. Check it all out this Wednesday evening in Bower Park.
