(OLNEY) Congratulations to a Richland County High School teacher who was recently honored by the National Association of Agricultural Educators. Mark Steber is one of six agricultural educators nationwide who received the 2025 Teacher Mentor Award that was presented during the NAAE Convention last month in Nashville, Tennessee. The Award goes to those who excell in preparing beginning ag teachers into the profession by offering advice and guiding them to their own professional strengths. During his 34-year teaching career at RCHS (ERHS), Steber has mentored seventeen (17) student teachers, guided five (5) early-career educators through Illinois’ state mentoring program, and inspired eight (8) former students to pursue careers as agricultural teachers themselves, not to mention the hundreds of past students who have went on to establish other agriculture-related careers. No doubt, a well-deserved honor to Mark Steber.
