MAN FOUND DEAD IN OLNEY’S BORAH LAKE

(OLNEY) An out-of-state man is dead after a drowning incident in Richland County this past weekend. It was at 3:33 this past Saturday afternoon that local authorities, including the Olney Police Department, Olney Lake Patrol, Olney Fire Department, and Richland County Sheriff’s Department, were called to the Borah Lake Beach, in reference to a swimmer that did not resurface, at which time Borah Lake and its Beach area was closed. After nearly two and a half hours of searching, the male victim was located underwater, with the body recovery made by the Vincennes Township Dive Team. Pronounced deceased at 5:57 Sunday evening by the Richland County Coroner staff, was 30 year old Emare Evans, originally from Denver, Colorado, currently living in Bridgeport. With no other details available by authorities at this time, an autopsy will be performed by the Richland County Coroner’s Office tomorrow, on Tuesday. Other search assistance and mutual aid during the incident came from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois State Police, Jasper County EMA, the Crawford County Dive Team, and the Effingham Dive Team.
