(EFFINGHAM) Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation Zone 5 officials have announced the guilty plea and sentencing of 23 year old Dayquan Slaughter of Mattoon for four counts of possession, production, and dissemination of child pornography, all Class X felonies. Slaughter was first taken into custody for possession of child pornography on December 19th, 2023, after a search warrant was executed at an address in Mattoon. It was early last week that Slaughter was sentenced to 25 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections after the investigation by the State Police and local law enforcement agencies.
