(NEWTON/OLNEY) In meetings coming up next week :
the IECC Board of Trustees have a special meeting next Wednesday (9/3/25) morning at the District Office in Olney, starting at 11:00 – with no formal action to be taken, the meeting will be mostly in closed session to discuss personnel, negotiations, and possible litigation
The Newton City Council has a regular meeting Tuesday (9/2/25) evening at the Newton City Hall, beginning at 6:00 – two public hearings will be held prior to the meeting, starting at 5:30 – one to discuss the Open Space Lands Acquisition & Development (OSLAD) Grant and the other to discuss the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Grant
The hearings and meetings are all open to the public, with the exception of closed sessions.
(OLNEY/NEWTON/NOBLE) A reminder that all area city and village halls will be closed next Monday in observance of Labor Day 2025. After today, they will reopen with normal hours next Tuesday. In addition, Republic Services will be hauling trash on its normal schedule on Monday and the rest of next week. Plus the Olney Brush Dump will be closed Monday, however it is open today and tomorrow with the normal hours of 10:00 to 4:00 each day.
(OLNEY) The City of Olney reminding folks that the Musgrove Aquatic Center is open this weekend, both tomorrow and Sunday, from 12:00 to 1:00 each afternoon for adult lap swim, and from 1:00 to 6:00 each afternoon for public swim. The Musgrove Aquatic Center in Olney will also be open Monday, on Labor Day, as well.
