(SPRINGFIELD) Illinois-based John Deere has announced that it will open two new facilities this year, one in North Carolina and the other in neighboring Indiana. The company says future generation excavators, previously produced in Japan, will now be manufactured in Kernersville, North Carolina, and it was just recently that ground was broke on a new distribution center near Hebron, Indiana. The company’s primary North American Parts Distribution Center remains in Milan, Illinois, up in Rock Island County, at a location that’s been open since 1973.
