NEW YIELD ESTIMATES RELEASED

(SPRINGFIELD) The 36th annual nationwide yield survey by Allendale, Incorporated came in just shy of August 12th estimates from the USDA, adding to the list of forecasts for a record corn crop this season. The survey projects a national average corn yield of 187.5 bushels per acre, down slightly from the USDA’s estimate fo 188.8. Allendale sees soybean yields averaging 53.3 bushels, also just under the USDA estimate of 53.6 bushels. On the state level, the survey sets the Illinois corn yield at 216 bushels per acre, compared to 217 a year ago and the USDA’s latest estimate of 221 bushels. The Illinois soybean yield is forecast at 60 bushels per acre, compared to 64 bushels last year and the 65 bushel USDA estimate.
