(WASHINGTON, D.C.) Democratic attorneys general from 21 states and jurisdictions sued the Trump administration yesterday for denying federal funds to help victims of violent crimes who are in America illegally. The suit challenges the U.S. Department of Justice’s new requirement prohibiting recipients of grants from using the money to provide legal services to anyone who is not a legal resident of the United States. With a few exceptions, the new rule takes effect October 31st and applies to both future and previous grants.

(SPRINGFIELD) Governor J.B. Pritzker and the Illinois Department of Transportation joined state, local, and organized labor officials yesterday to announce the largest multi-year infrastructure spending program in state history. The planned investment of $50.6 billion state taxpayer funds over six years breaks last year’s previous record of $41.4 billion.

The Community Impact Fund is expected to create at least 100 new homeowners across the Land of Lincoln within the next 12 to 18 months.

(SPRINGFIELD) A utility watchdog group says Ameren’s electricity price has apparently dropped more than 30% from what it was earlier this year. The Citizens Utility Board issued an alert yesterday urging consumers throughout the state to review the electric supply section of their bills to make sure they are not overpaying with an alternative supplier.
