(SPRINGFIELD) Moody’s Investors Service has upgraded Illinois’ credit rating to A2 for the state’s general obligation bonds. State officials celebrated the news, saying it reflected the state’s continued commitment to growing the economy and maintaining fiscal stability. News of the upgrade comes exactly one month after the state agencies were ordered to identify efficiencies and reductions within their respective offices throughout the state.
(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Housing Development Authority and the Local Initiatives Support Corporation have announced that individuals may now apply to be part of the 2026 class of the Next Gen Capacity Building Initiative. The program is designed for emerging developers to gain knowledge in the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit industry. The Next Gen applications will be accepted for at least another month, through December 4th.
(SPRINGFIELD) The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced the release of the new Illinois Official Highway Map, with updates to listings and locations of colleges and universities, Amtrak service, tourist attractions, and recreational areas. The map is funded through the Federal Highway Administration and published by IDOT every two years. The map’s cover features a sunset along U.S. 34 between Mendota and Princeton.
(CHICAGO) The Cook County Board of Commissioners have approved a $20 million grant to the University of Illinois Board of Trustees to fund costs associated with the purchase and installation of a cryogenic facility at PsiQuantum, the anchor tenant of the Illinois Quantum & Microelectronics Park in Chicago. PsiQuantum has received hundreds of millions of dollars in tax incentives from Illinois, Cook County, and the City of Chicago.
