The IESA 8th Grade Regional Semi-Finals were played, here’s some results involving area downstate teams:
CLASS 1A :
- Newton St. Thomas beat Neoga, 34-12
- Mattoon’s St. John’s beat Effingham Sacred Heart, 52-37
- The championship game at Effingham is tonight at 6:00
CLASS 2A :
- The Semi-Final games at both Casey and St. Elmo are tonight
CLASS 3A :
- Newton Jasper County beat Shelbyville Moulton, 40-33 (19-4)
(Eli Wolf had 23 points : top defender – Ian Kessler : top rebounder – Mack Huber)
- Teutopolis beat Lawrenceville Parkview, 55-32
- The championship game is tomorrow night at 6:00
CLASS 4A :
- Rochester beat Mt. Zion, 55-28
- Effingham beat Taylorville, 44-28
The 8th Grade Regional Title games are either tonight or tomorrow night.
