(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board of Education met in special session last night to discuss the district’s newly proposed Athletic Complex. After FGM Architects presented layouts of the Complex from both Byrne & Jones Sports Construction and from ATG-Ram Industries, the Board requested more options, such as changing the location of the football field, a grass surface versus turf, and making sure the JROTC and wrestling program can use the facilities. The Board also requested different sizes and options of the Athletic Building, which will house restrooms, a concession stand, locker rooms, meeting rooms, and a storm shelter. With no official action taken, the Board’s next regular meeting is September 18th.
