NWS WORKING ON GETTING NOAA KXI-48 (NEWTON) BACK UP AND RUNNING

(LINCOLN) The National Weather Service has announced that work is continuing to try and get the NOAA Weather Radio station KXI-48 (162.450 MHz) near Newton back up and running as technicians continue to troubleshoot the issues involved. Meanwhile, regional weather information is available on other NOAA alternate transmitters. The list includes KXI-49 in Salem (162.475 MHz, channel 4) for the counties of Richland, Clay, and Wayne. Also to the north, on KXI-47 in Paris (162.525 MHz, channel 6), covering Clark County, plus KXI-46 in Shelbyville (162.500 MHz, channel 5) for Effingham County, WWG-82 in Edwardsport, Indiana (162.425 MHz, channel 2) for Crawford and Lawrence Counties, and KIG-76 in Evansville (162.550 MHz, channel 7) for Edwards County. Unfortunately, there are no available alternate transmitters for those that live in Jasper and Cumberland Counties.
