OLNEY CITY COUNCIL AUGUST MEETING RECAP

(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met last night in regular session. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : agreed to amend the City Budget and then approved the purchase of property at 1440 North Silver Street worth $227,544 : accepted the $318,000 bid for the Elliott Street Bridge Retaining Wall project : agreed to amend the City Budget and then agreed to replace all ball diamond lights at Musgrove Park – the City’s share of the estimated $135,000 cost is $100,000 with grant funds and other contributions to pay the balance : agreed to donate $20,000 to the Richland Heritage Museum Foundation to help replace the windows at the Heritage House Museum : approved a five-year subscription for software services for the Olney Police Department : agreed to appoint Kristy Geltz to the City of Olney Tree Board : approved two raffle licenses as requested : heard updates on various projects, including the improvement work on the CSX Railroad crossing on Whittle Avenue with more work expected next week : approved a proclamation that Wednesday, August 21st, be noted as Richland County Fair Board Day throughout all of Richland County & Olney : then no action after an executive session to discuss real property and personnel : the next regular meeting for the Olney City Council will be Monday, August 26th, at 6:00.
