(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met last night in regular session. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : accepted the $647,782 bid from Samron Midwest Construction (Murphysboro, Illinois) for the East Street Bridge project : accepted the $78,242 quote from Centennial Emergency Solutions (St. Louis, Missouri) to buy needed Air Packs for the Olney Fire Department : accepted two quotes from Straeffer Pump (Chandler, Indiana) to repair the Hawthorne and Magnolia Sewer Lift Stations worth the combined cost of $53,735 : amended the City of Olney’s budget for the $2,000 cost to replace the Sewer Plant Main Breaker : amended the City’s Municipal Code to reduce the number of Liquor Licenses in Olney by one : approved a raffle license as requested : and after a brief closed session, approved a three-year agreement, retroaction to May 1st, 2024, between the City of Olney and the Illinois Fraternal Order of Police Labor Council representing Olney City Police Patrolmen and Sergeants : the Olney City Council’s next meeting is set for June 10th.
