(OLNEY) The Olney City Council and Richland County Board had a joint 30-minute meeting last night to discuss and hear more information about a possible county-wide radio project with much needed improvements for all emergency services. No action was taken in the special joint meeting. Then the Olney City Council had it’s regularly scheduled meeting. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : heard a positive Audit Report on the City’s Fiscal Year Finances and on the TIF Fund, showing no issues : approved two Class B Liquor Licenses for B&L Package Liquor and RK Party Supply : approved the $15,500 bid from Hemrich Excavating to demolish the property at 1009 East Chestnut Street : agreed to change the tennis court parking lot improvements in the Olney City Park from asphalt work to concrete work : approved the $12,950 quote to replace both pumps at the Wayne Street Lift Station : approved the $8,428 bid from Dan’s Electric to replace the HVAC system at the Olney City Hall : discussed, but took no action on Enterprise Zone Advertisement & Cost Sharing : approved three raffle licenses, as requested : heard an update on storm sewer repair work along Kitchell Avenue : and took no action, other than to adjourn, after a short closed session to discuss real property, personnel, and litigation : the next regular meeting for the Olney City Council will be Monday, August 25th.
