OLNEY ROTARY CLUB BRINGS BACK ‘OLNEY CLEAN & GREEN’

(OLNEY) The Olney Rotary Club is again sponsoring its “Olney Clean & Green” event, a city wide litter pickup campaign where volunteers take one or more of 66 designated routes in Olney to pick up trash. With the “Clean & Green” scheduled to start this Friday, June 20th, and continue for eleven straight days, through June 30th, garbage bags and gloves will be available at either the First National Bank in Olney or at TrustBank’s downtown location and participants can pickup their specific route or routes at anytime during the 11 days. The filled garbage bags can then be dropped off in the trash receptacle at the City Parking Lot off of Whittle Avenue, behind the Olney Police Department. Those participating are urged to take pictures of themselves with their garbage bags and text the pictures to Jean at 618-838-3989 to be entered into a drawing for one of three prizes. So get your family, church, or local group together and signup for a route, all of which are approximately one mile in walking distance. It all starts Friday.
