OLNEY WATER CUSTOMERS AND STUDENTS UNDER A BOIL WATER ORDER (03/21/2024)

(OLNEY) While students at the Richland County Middle School were dismissed early on Wednesday due to a major water line break, all schools in the Richland County School District are in session today. While the Middle School, Elementary School, and Early Learning Center are all under a boil water order for today, bottled water will be provided for all students and staff as needed. Breakfast and lunch will be served with all necessary safety measures being taken. This does not effect Richland County High School.

The area involves the northeast section of Olney, running from North Walnut Street on the west edge to Road 1175 East, Miller’s Grove, and the edge of East Fork Lake on the north, to the Richland County Elementary School on the east, and to Douglas Drive and Scott Street on the south. The water is this area should be boiled for at least 5 minutes for drinking or cooking purposes. With crews working on the situation, the City of Olney thanks all the water customers affected for their patience.
