(XENIA) An out-of-state woman is deceased after a three vehicle traffic accident occurred shortly passed 12:00 noon last Friday along U.S. Route 50, a quarter of a mile west of the Route 50 / Xenia-Iola Road intersection. According to Clay County Coroner Bryce Henry, 59 year old Mia S. Daniels of Monticello, Arkansas, was westbound on Route 50 when her car was struck nearly head on by an eastbound car attempted to pass a semi-truck. An autopsy is scheduled to assist with the investigation. No other injuries were reported. Agencies on the scene assisting were the Illinois State Police, Clay County Sheriff’s Department, IDOT, the Xenia Fire Department, the Clay County EMS, and the Flora/Clay County Rescue.
