REGIONAL WEATHER OUTLOOK

(OLNEY/NEWTON) With showers and thunderstorms, even some tornadic weather, moving through the northern third of Illinois last night, the approaching cold front will move across our downstate area by later this evening. We’ll have on-and-off showers with some thunderstorms, some of which could be severe, with all the rain moving out by midnight, late tonight. A little cooler air returns for tomorrow through Friday, then a slight warmup for the weekend will be erased by a strong cold front with winter-like conditions in the forecast for early next week. Stay tuned for updates and monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for more weather forecast details.

(NEWTON/OLNEY) The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch in effect until 11:00 this morning for our entire listening area, including the local counties of Jasper, Richland, Lawrence, Crawford, Clark, Cumberland, Effingham, Clay, Wayne, Jefferson, White, Edwards, Wabash, and nine others. Monitor a NOAA Weather Alert Radio for updates and other details.
