(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met last night in regular session. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : approved the $26,500 purchase of a used 2000 Ladder Truck for the Olney Fire Department : approved the $25,000 purchase of three sludge pumps for the City’s Sewer Plant : amended the 2025-2026 Street Department Budget for the Main Street/Walnut Street Storm Sewer Project, reflecting a savings of at least $1 million to the citizens of Olney : approved an Intergovernmental Agreement to participate in the Illinois Public Works Mutual Aid Network : agreed to seek bids for Activated Carbon Replacement at the City’s Water Plant : approved a TIF agreement & designation for a planned Climate Controlled Storage facility planning to locate in Olney : approved a raffle license for the Olney VFW, as requested : and after an executive session to discuss real property, litigation, and personnel, approved Christmas bonuses for city employees and discussed plans to develop and operate a new marina on East Fork Lake : next meeting for the Olney City Council is November 10th, 2025.
