(OLNEY) The Olney City Council met last night in regular session. The Council : approved the payment of all bills as presented : approved the 2025 Tax Levy as presented : agreed to make an additional IMRF payment with the City’s account now 86% funded, with the 90% goal by 2040 a good probability : approved a Class A Liquor License for “The Parlour” located at the Chestnut Street & Fair Street intersection : amended the City of Olney Municipal Code for the additional liquor license : accepted the bid for granular activated carbon replacement for the City’s Water Treatment Plant : approved a resolution with travel tournament agreements for the use of Olney’s Musgrove Park baseball & softball diamonds : approved the placement of a Tender Loving Care Box at the Carle Trail in the Olney City Park, courtesy of the Lutheran Church in Olney : tabled action on two rezoning proposals : approved four raffle requests : agreed to help sponsor the After Prom at RCHS : heard an update from the Richland County Development Corporation : and after a closed session to discuss real property, litigation, and personnel, talked about the various options for Main Street Projects : the Olney City Council’s next regular meeting is Monday, December 22nd, 2025.
