(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board met for its regular monthly meeting last night in Olney. The Board : after a public hearing to review the Fiscal Year 2026 District Budget, approved the August financial report with a monthly bill listing worth $1,022,913 : heard an update on the District’s new Raptor Security System : heard more info about the proposed Athletic Complex : approved the FY26 Budget as presented : agreed to sell unneeded items within the District : approved several job descriptions : agreed to reject all bids for the RCMS playground equipment : noted that the IHSA has confirmed that RCHS in now in Class 2A for the 2025-2026 school year : recognized various staff members on several recent accomplishments : and in personnel – accepted the retirement from RCHS Nurse Cheryl Wall and the resignation from RCES Paraprofessional Whitney Fielden – agreed to hire Faith Keller as a RiseUp Teacher Assistant, Candice Green as an RCHS Paraprofessional, Rebekah Byson as RCES Teacher Assistant, Ronda Hance as a Part-Time Paraprofessional at St. Joseph School, and others for extra-duty assignments and sports volunteers : the next regular monthly meeting for the Richland County School Board of Education will be October 16th, 2025.
