(NEWTON) At the most recent Jasper County Board meeting held in Newton, the Board : approved the payment of the November bill list, worth $315,842 : approved the Fiscal Year 2026 Tax Levy for Jasper County as presented : approved the $10,973 estimate to carpet the County Health Department’s Annex Building since it will be used as the temporary location for the Jasper County Circuit Clerk’s Office, State’s Attorney’s Office, and Probation Department during the construction of the new Jasper County Courthouse : agreed to continuing meeting on the third Thursday of the month in 2026 : approved the reappointment of Ron Heltsley to a three year term on the Jasper County Board of Health : appointed Mike Hall as the Jasper County representative to the Southeastern Illinois Economic Development Authority : reviewed reports from the Health Department, Highway Department, Ambulance Department, & Animal Control : and noted that mechanical blueprints are being developed for the new Courthouse with ground bore testing to be conducted in January : the Jasper County Board’s next regular monthly meeting is January 15th, 2026.
