REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING FOR OCTOBER

(OLNEY/NEWTON) The Illinois Eastern Community Colleges Board of Trustees had their regular monthly meeting for October this past Tuesday night. The Board : approved the payment of all September bills as presented : approved the purchase of simulation lab equipment and software for the new Health Professions Center addition at Olney Central College : approved emergency repairs at Lincoln Trail College worth $458,162 funded thru insurance due to severe hail damage earlier this year, including roof replacement work and HAVC repairs : approved the $30,343 bid from Dan’s Electric Shop to replace three roof top HVAC units at the Terry L. Bruce West Richland Center in Noble : approved medical and dental insurance plans and premiums for calendar year 2026 from Blue Cross Blue Shield with an 8.9% increase : approved the cost recovery fees for equipment kits for the District Cosmetology & Nail Technology programs : accepted the FY2025 Student Complaint Annual Review : approved revisions to four District policies dealing with Identity Theft, Weapons & Firearms, Assignment of Vehicles, and Emergency Response Plans : approved a policy that reflects input from both the District Board and administration to provide clearer guidance regarding the collaborative relationship between the District and its affiliated Foundations : approved the development of an Intercollegiate Athletics Policy to provide greater Board direction and clearer administrative oversight of District athletics : and in personnel – agreed to dismiss Chet Snyder as Head Volleyball Coach & Student Life Coordinator at FCC : approved a status change for KaRissa Miller from Business & Industry Specialist to District Program Director of Business & Industry : and employed Samantha Adams as Information Systems Technician at LTC and Will Bookhout as Temporary District Welding Instructor : the next regular meeting for the IECC Board of Trustees will be November 18th, 2025 at Olney Central College.
