(OLNEY) The Richland County School Board met for its regular monthly meeting in January last night in Olney. The Board : approved the December financial report with the monthly bill listing worth $2,061,251 : heard Superintendent Jason Fox’s annual State of the District Report, which is viewable on the District’s website at rccu1.net : approved a resolution authorizing the issuance of General Obligation School Bonds (Alternate Revenue Source) in an amount not to exceed $9,000,000 for the purpose of altering, repairing and equipping school buildings and facilities, and improving school sites, and in the amount not to exceed $12,000,000 for the purpose of refunding outstanding obligations of the District : recognized the twenty Illinois state scholars from Richland County High School : and in personnel – approved the retirement of Marty Overton as RCMS Head Custodian effective May 29th, 2026 – approved resignations from RCHS Custodian Connor Walker and from RCMS/RCHS Librarian Secretary Haylee Bussard – agreed to employ Gary Hilderbrand as RCHS Custodian upon completion of new hire paperwork – approved the extra-duty assignment of Sherry Slankard as Counselor Team Leader for the 2025-2026 school year – and approved RCMS and RCHS Athletic Volunteers for spring 2026 : the next regular meeting for the Richland County School Board is February 19th, 2026.
