(NEWTON) The Jasper County School Board of Education had its regular monthly meeting for September last night in Newton. The Board : held an annual budget hearing & then later approved the Fiscal Year 2026 District Budget as presented : approved the payment of bills as presented : approved the second readings of eighteen policies with updates : approved a Chorus Trip for the summer of 2026 : tabled until October the approval of the FY26 District & FFA Alumni agreement : noted that the District’s summer projects are finishing up with the Elementary School roofing work : noted that the bids for the NES building addition are due in October : and in personnel – accepted resignations from Bus Driver Taylor Francis, NES Special Education Teacher Gabrielle Lyell, and JCJH Volleyball Assistant Coach Kelly Thomann – agreed to hire Paul Clark as a Bus Driver and David Murphy for Groundskeeper Position : the next regular meeting for the Jasper County School Board is October 20th.
