REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING LAST NIGHT

(OLNEY) The Richland County Board had its regular monthly meeting for December last night in Olney. The Board : approved the payment of November bills – $502,474 in county general claims and $166,086 in non-county claims : approved an agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation to continue in the County Engineer Salary Program for 2026 : approved the 2026 holiday schedule and the monthly County Board meeting dates for 2026 : agreed to renew the Liquor Licenses for the Richland Country Club and for Ironsides Bar, LLC : discussed, but took no action on modifications to the County’s Solar & Wind Ordinance after recent state law changes : also discussed, but took no action on proposals for locking in electric rates for County accounts : heard an IT reports about security updates and about the County supporting the RCDC IT system : heard a positive report about this year’s Shop With A Hero program whereas 61 area children were assisted by Richland County and City of Olney law enforcement personnel along with Richland County, City of Olney, and Lawrence County firemen : and after an executive session to discuss real estate, negotiations, and personnel, approved an ordinance for a three year pay increase for hourly maintenance employees of Richland County : the County Board tabled discussion on County Zoning of retail cannabis establishments due to the need of more details and information : the Richland County Board’s next regular monthly meeting will be January 8th, 2026.
