(NEWTON) Newton and Jasper County residents are all invited to this Sunday evening’s Community Thanksgiving Service to be held at 404 South Scott Avenue in Newton, beginning at 6:00. Sponsored by the Jasper County Ministerial Association, it will be an uplifting service for everyone to gather, give thanks, and sing praises. A love offering will be taken as well.

(OLNEY) The next Queen of Hearts drawing at the Olney VFW is this Sunday afternoon at 4:00, with tickets on sale up until 3:55, and all open to the public. The jackpot for this coming weekend will be over $8,160 if the winner is present. A huge “thank you” to everyone for supporting the VFW fundraiser with all proceeds to help out local Veterans and their families.

(OLNEY) The Olney Firefighter’s Association (OFA) will hold a breakfast fundraiser this Saturday morning at the Olney Fire Station, at 501 North Walnut Street, with serving from 6:00 to 11:00 in the morning, or until sold out. With phone-in orders at 618-392-6341 and carry outs available, donations will be accepted at the door for the biscuits, gravy, pancakes, and sausage meal. Proceeds will be used to assist the OFA with its support of the Olney Fire Department with future purchases of much needed equipment upgrades. All ages are invited Saturday morning.

(PARKERSBURG) The Walnut Grove Church, east of Parkersburg, will have a sausage gravy and biscuit fundraising breakfast this Saturday morning, with serving from 6:30 to 11:00. All donations will be accepted to benefit local families in need in the area community. All invited.

(FLORA) The Guadalupe Project will have its annual Smoked Pork Loin Sale this weekend at Briscoe Surplus Sales, along U.S. Route 50 in Flora. The pork loins will be available for pick up during regular business hours at Briscoe’s this Friday and up until 2:00 Saturday afternoon. With the cost of $30, preorders are guaranteed on Friday. All proceeds will stay locally to assist the Guadalupe Project and its mission to help out young families in the Clay County area.

(OLNEY) The Richland County Health Office will hold its final Flu Shot & Covid Vaccination Clinic of the year today with the office at 208 East Main Street open from 8:00 to 11:00 this morning and from 1:00 to 5:00 this afternoon. While both Pfizer and Moderna covid vaccinations are available, all types of flu shots are also on hand. If any questions, call the Richland County Health Office in Olney, at 392-6241. That’s the final clinic of the year today.
