(BEECHER CITY) State Representative Blaine Wilhour will be hosting a free Fishing Derby for area children, ages 4 to 15, this coming Saturday morning, at the Fish Hatchery Pond, located at the intersection of U.S. Route 50 and Sand Ridge Road, in Carlyle. Each child must be accompanied by an adult with their own rod and reel with registration prior to 8:00 with all the bait provided by State Representative Blaine Wilhour. Then starting at 8:00, the State DNR will have a Water Safety presentation, followed by a Baiting Your Hook & Reeling In Fish presentation at 8:15, then fishing until 10:30 with prizes awarded. Special guest Al Crocker of “Fishing & the Outdoors with Al Crocker” will be on hand to help out, along with the Carlyle High School Bass Club and others. All children are invited.
