(OLNEY, ILLINOIS) The funeral service for Reverend Gary A. Wachtel, age 78, of Olney, Illinois, will be held Wednesday evening, March 11, 2026, at 6:00, at the First Church of Olney, with full military rites conducted prior to the start of the service. The visitation for the U.S. Army Veteran, Army National Guardsman, Army Reservist, Chaplin, and Reverend, is also Wednesday evening, March 11, 2026, from 4:00 until service time, at the First Church of Olney. Burial will be Thursday morning, March 12, 2026, at 11:00, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Evansville, Indiana. The Meyer Funeral Home in Olney is assisting the family with the arrangements.
