(OLNEY) The Richland County Board had its regular monthly meeting last night in Olney. The Board : approved the payment of July bills, as presented – $110,338 in county claims and $709,077 in non-county claims : approved the $677,000 low bid from Global Inc. for a new countywide communications system for emergency services with this bid to cover only the project’s infrastructure work, including repeaters, cabling, and more with the purchase of radios to be done separately – it should be noted that none of the County’s share for the radio project is coming out of general funds, but instead out of the Sheriff’s Department Forfeiture & Seizure Fund – the County’s 9-1-1 Board will pay for nearly half of the project : in other business, the Board approved an Olney Township petition for culvert assistance : approved a raffle request as presented : reviewed an IT update, noting the need of new computers and more : and took no action after a closed session to discuss real estate and negotiations : the County Board’s next regular monthly meeting is September 11th.
