the upstate IESA State Tournaments began Saturday up in Normal
here’s a look at the results involving downstate area teams
CLASS 1A :
South Central beat Pontiac St. Mary’s, 18-8
South Central then beat Mendota Holy Cross in semi-final action, 9-8
the Lady Falcons then won the championship game over Central A&M, 3-0
South Central ends the season with a 21-4 record and the Class 1A State Title
CLASS 2A :
Robinson was eliminated by Kewanee Wethersfield, 7-4
the Lady Raiders finish the year at 20-2
CLASS 2A :
Pana was eliminated by Hardin Calhoun, 1-0
the Junior Lady Panthers finish the year at 14-5
CLASS 3A :
Effingham beat Normal Chiddix, 8-2
Effingham then lost to Washington Central in semi-final action, 6-0
the Lady Mustangs came back to win the third place game over Chatham Glenwood, 14-2
Effingham ends the season with a 19-2 record
