SEASON OPENING ACTION THURSDAY

(OLNEY) in Boys High School Golf yesterday –
Olney opened up its season with a victory at the eight-team Mt. Carmel Invitational
the Tigers beat out the second place host Aces by six strokes, 308 to 314
Hamilton County was third at 319, followed by Red Hill/Lawrenceville at 324
then Carmi (332), Edwards County (348), Fairfield (359), and Harrisburg (392)
out of the 48 total golfers on the course, the Tigers had four finish in the top twenty
Olney’s Ayden Nealis and Reese Glover tied for second place, each with a 73
teammate Carter Blank tied for 12th place with an 80
Olney’s Carsyn Ameter tied for 15th place with an 82
the other Tigers competing were Dierks Mitchell and Giuseppe Trupiano
the Match Medalist was Hamilton County’s Ethan Kessler with a 69
the Tigers are quickly back in action Monday at the Robinson Invitational
the Lady Tigers open up their season next Tuesday at Casey

(NEWTON) in Girls High School Golf yesterday –
the Newton Lady Eagles opened their season at Indian Springs Golf Course
Edwardsville beat out Teutopolis to win the event, 356 to 366
Edwardsville’s Rachel Johnson was the Match Medalist with a low round 71
the Newton Lady Eagles had only two young ladies taking part
Haley Ochs was second overall with an 88, including a hole in one on the par 4 9th hole
the other Lady Eagle on the course was Peyton Lindley
the Lady Eagles are back in action next Tuesday at Casey

(TEUTOPOLIS) also in Boys High School Golf yesterday –
the Wooden Shoes were third among thirteen teams at the Battle of Rend Lake
Breese Mate Dei outshot St. Anthony by ten strokes, 304 to 314
Teutopolis was just two strokes back in third place at 316
the Shoes’ Coen Pennington was the Co-Match Medalist at 73, but losing in sudden death
