The State Cross Country Meets were held at Detweiller Park in Peoria on Saturday. Here’s how local runners performed:
Class 2A Boys:
- 236 runners competed in the 2A Boys race.
- Olney’s Quaid Berger finished in 35th place.
Class 2A Girls:
- 243 runners competed in the 2A Girls race.
- Olney’s Mackenzi Thomas finished in 99th place.
Class 1A Girls:
- 255 runners competed in the 1A Girls race.
- Newton’s Layna Marshall finished in 137th place.
Notable Area Performances (Top 10 Finishers):
- Isabella Keller from St. Anthony placed 2nd.
- Tessa Bowers from Shelbyville placed 5th.
- Molly Farrell from Marshall placed 7th, and her teammate Madeline Fox placed 9th.
